Have a heart for Mental Health? Want to support the vulnerable in finding confidence and friendship? Enjoy running activities? Have something valuable to share?

If the answer is yes and you have three hours a week to spare then this is the role for you!

Your primary role as a Support group facilitator is to run a weekly social interaction activity or discussion group for those with mental health difficulties in one of our Hampshire based groups. This role exists to promote and provide peer-supported recovery for those who are vulnerable and often lonely.

Your interest and desire in empowering people to live fulfilled and healthy lives, and your practical or academic knowledge will take center-stage, whether it be in anxiety help, debt-support, craft, healthy eating, art, or anything else, we invite and encourage you to facilitate group interaction about your specialty, or interest, all with a view to empower people and help them in their recovery.

We would love for you to share your know-how and knowledge with our clients to support them from a place of experience.

You will be trained, free of charge, and accredited on our level 2 course as a "volunteer and peer mentor" via OCN, and will be supported throughout your time with us.

Skills

We are looking for people who are:

A) Keen to use their interest to support those with mental health difficulties

B) Are kind and encouraging in nature

C) Have the ability to work on your own initiative in a friendly, welcoming manner.

D) Have good communication skills and an understanding of boundaries.

E) "mental-health aware"

F) Able to work in compliance with policies and procedures.

G) Have a Willingness to partake in training

Our groups are across East Hampshire and are between 1.5 and 3 hours per week. All groups are Monday - Friday.
