This volunteer role is for a Fundraising Lead within The Alverstoke Parish Centre Regeneration Project. The Fundraising Lead will be part of the Project Team, and be the main point of contact with a professional Fundraising Consultant who is tasked to raise the capital to build the new community centre of Alverstoke.
In 2016, it was agreed that a new Parish and Community Centre was needed in Alverstoke, as the current building requires major repair, falls short on current accessibility and build standards and has only one usable letting room. The Regeneration project, a subcommittee of St Mary’s PCC has developed the design of the new building and through a series of well supported events has raised sufficient funds to cover the anticipated costs up to the point of tendering to build.
The detailed cost plan (compiled by a Quantity Surveyor) estimates the final cost of the building will be around £2 million and there is a ring-fenced account for the building capital that currently stands at £214,000.
Income from community events will continue to cover project running costs, and pay professional fees. The fundraising lead will work on the capital fundraising for the build. This voluntary role would suit a self-motivated individual who will be able to familiarise themselves with the background, requirements and plans for the project.
The role would include networking with potential funders, exploring and submitting applications and working with the Project Team to develop the Fundraising Strategy.
The recruitment of an individual with the necessary skills is an essential first step in the process of raising funds and must take place as a matter of some urgency.
