We are currently recruiting for a Part-time Supported Volunteering Co-ordinator, based at Gosport Voluntary Action.
GVA’s Supported Volunteering project helps people of all ages, regardless of mental or physical disability, who wish to gain confidence generally who will in time, progress to volunteering independently.
We achieve this by offering free multi-week courses, such as Preparation for Volunteering, which is a broad based introduction, and Taking Part, which gives individuals practical, hands-on volunteering experience.
Our Community Volunteering Team for over 25’s, called VoluntHeroes meets regularly to offer a wide variety of activities allowing members of the group to learn new skills, meet new people and develop their confidence within a supportive and inclusive environment.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised and compassionate co-ordinator, who has either worked or volunteered with vulnerable adults and who has the skills, drive and commitment to run and expand a successful project within our friendly team.
You will need at least one year’s experience of running a similar project, preferably experience of volunteering or working with people with support needs, local knowledge of statutory/voluntary organisations, excellent communication skills, use of a car and be accustomed to lone and flexible working.
