Gosport Voluntary Action invites you to join our beach clean-up and help to reduce waste and plastic pollution, improve habitats and prevent harm to wildlife and humans as part of Global Earth Day.
Earth Day is an annual event on 22nd April to demonstrate support for environmental protection. First held on 22nd April 1970, it now includes a wide range of events coordinated globally by EarthDay.org
This will be a fun event for all the family and a great opportunity to meet local people and give back to our community.
The clean-up will take place at the Gilkicker end of Stokes Bay Beach, Gosport. Parking is available in the Gilkicker and Pebble Beach car parks (please note local parking charges apply).
Gosport Voluntary Action will provide litter pickers, bags and buckets, but if you have any of your own of these that you would like to use, please do bring them along.
Please feel welcome to bring your own refreshments for the event. We recommend reusable containers as we do not want to contribute to the litter at the site.
While we anticipate that this beach clean should be able to go ahead, it will be subject to adverse weather conditions and the government Covid guidelines applicable at the time.
