On Saturday, 11th June, the GVA Community Engagement Team were delighted to attend Portsmouth Pride, an event which aims to support and celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and serve as a safe place for everyone, showcasing Portsmouth as a city of inclusivity and diversity.
Throughout the day, Kay Hallsworth, GVA Chief Executive Officer, and Jacky Charman, GVA Community Engagement Manager, were thrilled to meet with Councillor Hugh Mason, the Lord Mayor of Portsmouth, Marie Costa, Lady Mayoress of Portsmouth and Councillor Jenna Sabine, Deputy Mayor of Ryde, amongst many others.
It was a wonderful way to network with other inclusive organisations, including partners we will be working with in the future, such as Beyond Reflections.
Gosport Voluntary Action would like to pay special thanks to the Royal Navy Compass and Royal Navy personnel, who helped us with setting up our gazebo and taking it down in quite high winds!
GVA are going to be doing work around our engagement with, and support of, the LGBTQ+ community in Gosport, so watch this space for something exciting next year!
