Domestic cleaning & shopping service
What is the service?
Dustbusters is Gosport Voluntary Action’s accredited not-for-profit domestic cleaning service. It is for residents of Gosport who are older/vulnerable and/or have a disability.
The service includes:
- General housework
- Cleaning Kitchens/bathrooms
- Changing bed linen
- Cleaning the inside of windows
- Laundry and ironing (sorry no hand washing)
Who is eligible for the service?
Residents of Gosport who are older/vulnerable and/or have a disability who would like to continue living independently in their own home.
Is there a cost for the service?
Yes, our non-profit service costs are:
£7.80 per hour for the cleaning service
£10.50 per month for administration of the service
The cleaning service fees are paid directly to your Dustbuster at the end of each visit. A receipt will be issued.
The administration fee is paid to Gosport Voluntary Action and is to ensure a continuous and reliable service. It also enables us to recruit quality, reliable dustbusters to provide the service. Payment can be returned by post or paid by standing order at the reduced price of £10.00 if preferred.
Is there anything else required?
All you have to provide is the required equipment and cleaning materials.
We ask you to inform us if you are going away on holiday, have hospital visits or are away for any other reason.
Responsibility for any accidental damage lies with the customer.
How can the service be accessed?

Referrals can be made through GPs, District Nurses, Wardens of sheltered housing as well as Social Services.
All of our Dustbusters have been chosen for their caring attitude and appreciation of the needs of older and vulnerable people. They have submitted two references and have all undergone a DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service) check.
For your safety, all of our Dustbusters will carry Gosport Voluntary Action identity cards
Each customer is eligible for a minimum of one hour per week. The service manager will visit the customer to discuss the working agreement, prior to the Dustbuster starting work.
Occasional absence by the Dustbuster will be covered subject to availability of a temporary replacement.
For holiday cover relief Dustbusters will be provided, subject to the availability of temporary replacements.
Our aim is to offer a flexible service tailored to the individual need of our customers.
Our Dustbusters provide this service Monday to Friday with the exception of Bank Holidays and Christmas Holidays.
