Supporting the community is of immeasurable value, but here are some approximate examples of the ways various amounts could be used:
£10
£10 could cover the monthly costs of enabling a Volunteer Befriender to visit an older, isolated Gosport resident on a regular basis, providing much-needed companionship.
£20
£20 could pay for 15 hours of co-ordination for our not-for-profit Dustbusters and Mend & Tend services, providing cleaning, gardening and basic home repairs to the older and vulnerable people in our community.
£50
£50 could fund training and ongoing support for a Volunteer Walk Leader to deliver regular healthy walks in Gosport, improving our community’s well-being.
£100
£100 could cover a full day of dedicated support for a community group, to help them get started or move forward with new ideas and projects.
£250
£250 would enable us to run a training session in Gosport on important topics like safeguarding, committee skills or fundraising, to help local community organisations to survive and thrive.
£500
£500 could secure long term support for a vulnerable local resident, who needs help to be involved in decisions about their lives, explore their choices and options, and have their voice heard.
£1,000
£1,000 would allow our annual Volunteer Awards ceremony and celebrations to go ahead, in order to show appreciation for the contributions of local people, and encourage them to continue devoting their time and skills to the Gosport community.
£1,600
£1,600 would allow us to run our multi-week Preparation for Volunteering course, so that participants can develop confidence and knowledge, enabling them to volunteer in all kinds of roles, such as a member of VoluntHeroes, our supported volunteering group.
