Delivery Services – Groceries

Morrisons are offering a doorstep delivery box scheme to vulnerable and older people who are unable to go shopping in store. You can order by calling 0345 611 6111 and selecting option 5 to place your order. The list is limited and can be viewed online. Morrisons aim to deliver the next day for any orders placed the day before by 5pm.

Age Concern Hampshire are offering the following:

Basic Food Parcel – £25 weekly (bread, milk, cereal, tinned food, toilet rolls, etc.)
Premium Food Parcel – £50 monthly (luxuries, vegetables, coffee, desserts, sugar, toiletries, etc.)
Collection and delivery of prescriptions
Pre-prepared meals – £7 per meal/£12 for 2 (main + pudding)

Fareham and Gosport Live at Home Scheme are offering a new weekly service with Light Lunches (soup and a sandwich, cake & fruit) and/or an afternoon tea (Scone with jam & cream, with finger rolls or sandwiches, assorted small cakes & fruit), costing £4 each. They will be delivered by volunteers. They are also offering packs of four cakes each month at £1.50. Please contact Pam McCune, Scheme Manager, for more details on 01329 234409.

G W Fresh Produce offer delivery to Gosport, Lee-on-the-Solent and Stubbington. Call 07908 953037 for more information.

Sheppards Family Butchers are offering deliveries for those in need or in self-isolation. Deliveries under £20 will incur a £2 charge, free delivery for over £20. Call 01329 665525 Tuesday-Friday between 8am-3pm.

Kev Jones & Son are offering deliveries to the elderly/vulnerable/those self-isolating. Convenience store. Call 01329 230192 for more information.

Solent Butchers in Portsmouth are offering Thursday deliveries to the Gosport/Lee on Solent areas of meat boxes. They usually supply to the catering trade. Call 02392 669228 to order.

Osolocal2u.com are offering a delivery service to PO12/PO13 areas. They usually deliver to the restaurant trade and cover the South coast. Fruit, veg, dairy, bakery available. Minimum £25 order plus £4.95 delivery. Call 0208 9887066 to order.

Sainsburys are now offering priority delivery slots and click and collect slots for elderly, vulnerable or disabled customers.  If you are in these categories please contact Sainsburys to let them know on 0800 328 1700.

Supermarket/shop arrangements for vulnerable people

Please note that this information is accurate as of 22 May, but circumstances may have changed.

Asda‘s Volunteer Shopping Card scheme allows volunteers to shop for individuals in need using a prepaid, cashless barcode.

Aldi customers who are over 70 or vulnerable are able to browse in-store 30 minutes before opening, Monday-Saturday (07:30-08:00).

Waitrose in Stoke Road are open 8:00-9:00 for the elderly and/or vulnerable (10:00-11:00 on Sunday).

Lee-on-the-Solent Co-Operative, 121 High Street, Lee-on-the-Solent, PO13 9BU are open 09:30-10:30 for the elderly/vulnerable.

The Co-operative Food (Forton, Elson and Hardway)- are open daily 09:30-10:30 for elderly and vulnerable people.

Tesco stores (except Express stores) are open to the elderly and most vulnerable from 09:00-10:00 Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Food Warehouse, Brockhurst Gate, Gosport, PO12 0AF are open to the elderly and most vulnerable 08:00-09:00 Monday-Saturday.

M&S Food, Brockhurst Gate, Gosport are open to elderly and vulnerable people 08:00-09:00 on Mondays and Thursdays.

Jollyes Pet Shop, Brockhurst Gate, Gosport, PO12 4FA are willing to hold stock for for elderly/vulnerable people to collect – call 02394 214700.

Sainsburys are offering a Volunteer shopping card scheme to help make grocery shopping safe and easy while you self-isolate or social distance.  The Broadcut, Fareham store is open to elderly or disabled customers (and their carers) on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays 08:00-09:00.

Delivery Services – Meals and Drinks

Trinity’s at Haslar is rolling out a meal delivery service for those who need to self-isolate within a 5 mile radius of the restaurant – for more information contact Maria on 02392 601200.

Bap and Burrito Bar are open Tues-Fri 9am-2pm (last order 1.30pm) for delivery. Cream teas also available.

33 Green Bottles are offering daily deliveries between 12-8pm, call 02392 170910

Fallen Acorn Brewing Co  are offering free home delivery in postcodes PO12 to PO16 using promo code SHOPLOCAL at checkout. Order by 2pm Sunday – Thursday for next day delivery. Contactless delivery available.

Gail’s Café are offering deliveries between 10am and 1pm with 20% off meals for the elderly, call 07446 900988.

Oak House Foods provide home delivery of frozen ready meals.

Ocean King Fish & Chips are offering free delivery in the local area between 6-8pm. Call and collect available between 11.30am-1.30pm and 5pm-8pm. 10% discount for all NHS, Armed Forces, and Emergency Services. OAP meals and light bite options available.

The Anglesey Hotel are offering deliveries Wednesday – Saturday 12:00-14:00 and 18:00-20:30 / Sunday 12:00-18:00. Free delivery in the PO12 area only. Contactless deliveries available.

Wright Choice Catering offer frozen meals delivered to your door. £25 minimum spend for delivery.

Tilly’s  have a delivery and take away available between 9am-2pm, contactless delivery can be arranged. 20% discount for NHS workers, kids’ meals for £2.50.

  • Stop Domestic Abuse are continuing to provide as full a service as possible, whilst protecting clients, staff and partners.  Read their statement from 24 March here.  The Advice Line is now available until 8pm Monday-Friday.
  • Solent Mind have launched a new helpline for anyone who is experiencing poor mental health or wellbeing challenges as a result of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic. Please Call: 023 8017 9049. Phonelines open: Monday – Friday, 10am – 4pm (except bank holidays).
  • From Gosport Borough Council – Streetscene: The Garden Recycling Collections is resuming on Monday 27 April, which is week 1 (green) on the garden calendar. Week 2 (blue) collections will take place the following week. Please have your brown bin ready for collection, presented correctly before 7am on your normal brown bin collection day.
  • Gosport Borough Council’s building is closed, however essential services are running. For more information visit their website here.
  • Gosport Community Safety Partnership has information for homelessness and rough sleepers here.
  • Jobcentre Plus Gosport is closed to all but vulnerable people and other related transactions which can’t be completed through any other channel (phone or journal). Inside Jobcentres, strict social distancing measures will be in place.
  • Citizens Advice Gosport are no longer able to provide their service face-to-face, but are maintaining their Universal Credit, Help to Claim and Money Advice Matters (MAM) services remotely, operating weekdays 9am-5pm. Residents should ring the main office number on 02392 520112 and press option 1. For more information, visit the website.

A number of local groups, community projects and volunteers have formed to help those who need assistance during periods of isolation.

Acts of Kindness Community (Solent) are also offering Coronavirus Community Support, and have taken on the local foodbank’s duties while they are unable to operate.

The Stubbington and Hill Head Community Project has been set up to assist members of the community by offering a goods delivery service from the Stubbington traders throughout these coming months.

Fareham and Gosport Coronavirus Volunteers has also been started to assist with groceries and prescription collections.
